Meet the Visionaries

Apostles Jeff and Heather Capuria are the passionate visionaries behind Alive Church Duncan. Together, they carry a heart for revival, restoration, and raising up Kingdom leaders who live fully alive in Christ. With a bold blend of apostolic leadership and prophetic grace, they have dedicated their lives to equipping the body of Christ, strengthening families, and transforming communities through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Their journey: from military service and personal restoration to global ministry, reflects their message: that no life is too broken for God to rebuild and use for His glory.

Whether preaching the Word, mentoring leaders, or loving people back to wholeness, Apostles Jeff and Heather lead with authenticity, faith, and fire, calling Duncan and beyond to awaken to the life only found in Jesus.

Who we are

Alive Church Duncan is a community of believers who are passionate about Jesus, the power of the Holy Spirit, and the transformation of both individual lives and our community. We believe in holding fast to the truth of the Gospel, while cultivating an atmosphere of love, power, and authenticity. We welcome anyone who is seeking to know God in a deeper way and to see His Kingdom come in Duncan and beyond.

The mission of Alive Church is to bring hope by helping people encounter Jesus, grow together, and LIVE FULLY ALIVE!

The vision of Alive Church is Bold Faith. Blossoming Families. Building Relationships.
Alive Church exists to see people live fully alive in Christ. We envision a church filled with believers who walk in bold faith, cultivate strong and flourishing families, and build lasting relationships that reflect the love of Jesus. Every service, outreach, and ministry opportunity flows from this vision—to ignite faith, strengthen homes, and unify hearts.

Here at Alive Church Duncan, we live by these values:

  • Community – We believe we’re better together. We don’t do this life alone, and we provide a space where you can belong, connect, and grow.

  • Covenant – We are committed to each other and to God. We believe in faithfulness, integrity, and keeping our word.

  • Consistency – Spiritual growth happens over time through discipline, obedience, and perseverance. We encourage daily devotion, community connection, and a lifetime pursuit of Christ.

  • Commission – We’re not just here to gather, we’re here to send. We believe in the Great Commission: being the hands and feet of Jesus, and taking the Gospel into our city and beyond.

Core Beliefs

At Alive Church Duncan, our faith is anchored in the unchanging truth of God’s Word. We believe that every principle found in Scripture is meant to help us live fully alive in Christ. Though our name is new, our foundation remains the same—rooted in apostolic doctrine, empowered by the Holy Spirit, and centered on Jesus.

The Bible

The Bible is God’s Word to all people. It was written by human authors under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit and is truth without any mixture of error. It remains the ultimate authority for faith and daily living. The Word of God reveals His heart, guides our steps, and equips us to live out His purpose.
Scripture References: Deuteronomy 4:1–2; Psalm 119:11, 89, 105; Proverbs 30:5; Isaiah 40:8; Matthew 22:29; John 5:39; 16:13–15; 17:17; Romans 15:4; 2 Timothy 3:15–17; Hebrews 4:12; 1 Peter 1:25; 2 Peter 3:16

The Trinity

We believe in one God who eternally exists in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Each is fully God, equal in power and authority, yet distinct in function. The Trinity reveals God’s relational nature—Father who loves, Son who redeems, and Spirit who empowers.
Scripture References: Genesis 1:26; Isaiah 9:6; Matthew 3:16–17; 28:19; 1 John 5:7; Hebrews 3:7–11

The Father

God the Father is great—sovereign, all-powerful, all-knowing, and holy. Yet He is also good—faithful, loving, and compassionate. It is in Him that we live, move, and have our being. He is trustworthy in all His ways and keeps every promise to His people.
Scripture References: Exodus 3:14; Psalm 11:4–6; Malachi 3:6; John 3:16; Acts 17:28; Romans 3:3–4

The Son – Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is both fully God and fully man. Conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary, He lived a sinless life, offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for our sins, and rose victoriously from the grave. He is the only way to the Father and the only hope for humanity. Through Him we are redeemed, restored, and made alive.
Scripture References: Isaiah 7:14; 53; Matthew 1:18–23; John 1:1, 14; Acts 2:22–24; Romans 1:3–4; Philippians 2:5–11; Colossians 1:15; 1 Timothy 2:5–6

The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is the active presence of God in the world today. He draws people to Christ, convicts of sin, comforts the believer, and empowers the Church. The Spirit gives spiritual gifts, produces spiritual fruit, and enables believers to live holy and victorious lives.
Scripture References: Joel 2:28–32; John 15:26; 16:7–14; Acts 1:8; 2:1–4; Romans 8:9–11; 1 Corinthians 12:1–11; Galatians 5:22–23

The Church

The Church is the body of Christ and the family of believers united in faith and purpose. We are called to gather for worship, grow in discipleship, and go into the world carrying the message of salvation. At Alive Church Duncan, we strive to walk in love, unity, and power as we glorify Jesus and expand His Kingdom.
Scripture References: Matthew 16:18–19; Acts 2:41–47; Ephesians 1:22–23; Colossians 1:18; 1 Peter 5:1–4

Humanity

Humanity was created in the image of God and designed for fellowship with Him. Because of sin, that relationship was broken, and no human effort can restore it. Only through Jesus Christ can we be reconciled to God. Every person is valuable, uniquely made, and deeply loved by Him.
Scripture References: Genesis 1:26–30; Romans 3:23; Ephesians 2:1–5; Colossians 1:21–22

Repentance

Repentance is more than regret—it is a turning away from sin and turning fully toward God. Through repentance, we receive forgiveness and begin a new life in Christ.
Scripture References: Acts 2:38; 3:19; Romans 5:12–21

Salvation

Salvation is a gift of grace through faith in Jesus Christ. We are saved not by works, but by trusting in His finished work on the cross and His resurrection. Salvation brings forgiveness, freedom, and eternal life.
Scripture References: John 3:16; Romans 10:9–10; Ephesians 2:8–10; 2 Corinthians 5:17–20

Prayer

Prayer is our direct line of communication with God. It is both conversation and communion—where we hear His heart and align ours with His will. At Alive Church Duncan, we believe nothing great happens without prayer going before it.
Scripture References: Philippians 4:6; Colossians 4:2; 1 Thessalonians 5:17

Baptism

Baptism is an outward expression of an inward transformation. Through full-immersion baptism, we publicly identify with Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection. It is a declaration that our old life is gone and we now live fully alive in Him.
Scripture References: Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38

Communion

Communion, or the Lord’s Supper, is a sacred act of remembrance. The bread and cup symbolize the body and blood of Jesus, reminding us of His sacrifice and victory. We partake in unity, gratitude, and reverence.
Scripture References: Matthew 26:26–28; 1 Corinthians 11:23–25

The Five-Fold Ministry

We believe the offices of apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers are still active today. These ministry gifts are given to equip believers for works of service and to strengthen the Body of Christ. At Alive Church Duncan, both men and women are empowered to lead and serve according to their God-given calling.
Scripture References: Ephesians 4:8–13; 1 Corinthians 12:4–31; Romans 16:1–7

Health and Prosperity

We believe Jesus’ redemptive work brings wholeness to every part of life—spirit, soul, and body. God desires His people to walk in health, freedom, and provision, living as testimonies of His goodness.
Scripture References: Isaiah 53:4–5; 3 John 1:2; Deuteronomy 28:1–14; Philippians 4:19

The Second Coming

We believe Jesus Christ will return visibly and triumphantly to establish His reign on earth. The timing is known only to the Father, so we live each day ready and expectant for His return.
Scripture References: Matthew 24:30; Acts 1:9–11; 1 Thessalonians 4:15–17; Revelation 1:7

Eternity

Every person will exist forever—either in eternal union with God in Heaven or separated from Him in Hell. Eternal life begins the moment we receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
Scripture References: John 3:16, 36; Romans 6:23; Revelation 20:12–15; 21:8

Alive Church Duncan is a church where truth and transformation meet; where people encounter Jesus, grow through His Word, and live empowered by His Spirit.

We believe in Bold Faith, Blossoming Families, and Building Relationships that last for eternity
